How to Use WCFM Multivendor with Eventin

Introduction #

The WCFM Multivendor extension turns your Eventin site into an event marketplace. Vendors get an Events section inside their own WCFM store dashboard, where they create events, add speakers and schedules, sell tickets and see their bookings — without ever entering wp-admin. You stay in control: every vendor only ever sees their own data, and you decide whether their events go live instantly or wait for your approval.

Prerequisites #

  • Eventin and Eventin Pro — installed and active. The vendor dashboard is built on Eventin Pro, so the free plugin alone is not enough.
  • WooCommerce — tickets are sold as WooCommerce products.
  • WC Frontend Manager (WCFM) and WC Multivendor Marketplace (WCFMmp) — these provide the vendor dashboard and the marketplace itself. Eventin offers to install both for you when you activate the extension.
  • At least one vendor account in WCFM to test with.

Step 1 — Activate the WCFM Multivendor extension #

Go to Eventin → Extensions and find the WCFM Multivendor card. Click Activate. If WCFM or WC Multivendor Marketplace are missing, Eventin downloads and installs them first, then switches the card’s toggle on.

Once the toggle is on, an Events menu appears in every vendor’s store dashboard. Turning the toggle off again removes that menu and leaves all existing events untouched.

Step 2 — Decide whether vendor events need your approval #

Eventin reuses WCFM’s existing product-approval rule for events, so there is no separate setting to learn. Go to WCFM → Settings → Capability and look at Products → Publish Products.

  • ON — vendors publish their events themselves. The event goes live the moment they hit Publish.
  • OFF — every new vendor event is saved as Pending. You review it under Events in wp-admin and publish it yourself.

An event a vendor has already published stays published when they edit it — the approval hold only applies to events going live for the first time. Your own admin-created events are never held.

Step 3 — Choose how buyers check out #

By default a buyer can put tickets from several vendors into one cart and pay once; WCFM splits the order and the commission afterwards. If you would rather each order belong to a single vendor, go to WCFM → Settings → Order Settings and tick Disable Multivendor Checkout.

While you are on the settings screen, set your commission under WCFM → Settings → Commission Settings. Ticket sales are ordinary WooCommerce sales, so whatever commission rule you set applies to them too.

Step 4 — What your vendors see #

A vendor signs in and opens Store Manager → Events. Everything Eventin offers them lives behind four tabs.

  • Events — create, edit and delete their own events.
  • Speakers & Organizers — the people attached to those events.
  • Schedules — agendas and session times.
  • My Bookings — attendees and ticket orders for their events.

Each tab lists only that vendor’s records. Speakers, schedules, attendees and orders belonging to another vendor are never shown, and cannot be opened, edited or deleted even by guessing an ID.

Step 5 — Create the first event as a vendor #

From Store Manager → Events, click Add New Event. The form is the same four-step wizard Eventin uses in wp-admin.

  1. Basic Info — event name, description, time zone, dates, location, banner, categories, organizer and speakers.
  2. Tickets — ticket types, prices and stock. This is what becomes the WooCommerce product buyers pay for.
  3. Schedule — optional agenda for the day.
  4. Advanced — extra options such as attendee fields and event settings.
  5. Click Publish — or Save as Draft to finish it later.

If Publish Products is off in your capability settings, the event is saved as Pending instead and waits for you.

Limits worth knowing #

  • Categories and tags are shared. Event categories, tags and speaker categories are site-wide, so a category one vendor adds is visible to all of them. Deleting a category is blocked for vendors — only an administrator can remove one, from wp-admin.
  • Vendors cannot reassign ownership. The author of an event is always the vendor who created it.
  • Events do not appear in the vendor’s Products list. They live under Events; the ticket product WooCommerce creates is managed by Eventin, not edited by hand.
  • The ticket scanner needs wp-admin. If you use QR check-in, the scanner opens in wp-admin for the vendor. Access is granted only for that screen and only to vendors who hold the scanning permission.

FAQs #

Q: I activated the extension but vendors have no Events menu. What now? #

A: The menu only appears when every dependency is active — Eventin, Eventin Pro, WooCommerce, WCFM and WC Multivendor Marketplace. Check Plugins and confirm all five are running, then ask the vendor to reload their dashboard.

Q: Can one vendor see or edit another vendor’s events? #

A: No. Every list is filtered to the signed-in vendor, and each request is checked against the record’s owner before it runs — including bulk deletes and bulk status changes. A vendor who supplies someone else’s ID gets a permission error, not the record.

Q: Where do I approve a pending vendor event? #

A: In wp-admin under Eventin → Events. Filter by Pending, open the event, and publish it. The vendor sees the new status in their dashboard immediately.

Q: How does the vendor get paid for ticket sales? #

A: Exactly like any other WooCommerce sale in WCFM. Commission is calculated from WCFM → Settings → Commission Settings, and the vendor withdraws through their usual Payments screen.

Q: Can a vendor add a new event category? #

A: Yes, but remember these taxonomies are shared site-wide — a category added by one vendor shows up for everyone. Vendors cannot delete a category; only an administrator can, from wp-admin. If you want a fixed list, create the categories yourself first and tell your vendors to pick from them.

Q: What happens to existing events if I deactivate the extension? #

A: Nothing is deleted. The Events menu disappears from vendor dashboards, and the events, tickets and orders stay exactly as they are. Switch the extension back on and vendors pick up where they left off.

Q: Does this work with Dokan as well? #

A: Eventin has a separate Dokan integration. Use one marketplace plugin at a time — run WCFM with this extension, or Dokan with the Dokan module, but not both on the same site.

Conclusion #

Activating WCFM Multivendor is most of the work: one click installs what is missing and adds an Events section to every vendor dashboard. After that you only make two decisions — whether vendors publish their own events (Capability → Publish Products) and whether buyers may mix vendors in one order (Order Settings → Disable Multivendor Checkout). Everything else your vendors already know from WCFM, and everything else your buyers already know from Eventin.
