Introduction to Pointics

Pointics is a loyalty and rewards plugin for WordPress that helps you reward customers for the actions that matter to your business.

Customers can earn points for purchases, reviews, account registrations, referrals and other activities, then redeem those points for rewards you define.

Whether you run a WooCommerce store, restaurant, membership website or another WordPress-based business, Pointics gives you the tools to create, manage and track a complete loyalty program without coding.

A guided setup wizard helps you get started, while the AI Assistant can propose earning rules, rewards and VIP levels based on a simple description of your business. Behind everything is a detailed points ledger that keeps every balance transparent and traceable.

Key Features at a Glance #

Guided Setup Wizard #

Go from a newly activated plugin to a working loyalty program in minutes. Configure the program manually or use the AI Assistant to help with the initial setup.

AI Assistant #

Describe your store or loyalty goals in plain English and let the assistant propose earning rules, rewards and levels. Nothing is saved until you review and approve it.

Point Earning Rules #

Award points for actions such as purchases, account registrations, reviews and referrals. Rules can use flat point amounts or points based on spending, with per-day, per-order and lifetime limits.

Rewards Catalogue #

Choose what customers can receive in exchange for their points and how many points each reward costs.

Available reward methods include:

  • Points Conversion
  • Fixed Discount
  • Percentage Discount
  • Bundle
  • Free Product
  • Free Shipping
  • Manual Reward
  • WooCommerce Coupon

VIP Levels #

Organize customers into loyalty levels based on points or spending. Members can be promoted or demoted automatically, with different benefits attached to each level.

Referral Program #

Create referral links and codes, track purchase referrals, reward the referring customer and optionally reward the referred friend. Attribution and fraud controls help keep the program manageable.

Points Ledger #

Every point movement is recorded in one searchable and exportable transaction history. Customer balances are calculated from this ledger, making it possible to understand exactly why a balance changed.

Customer Directory #

View your loyalty members along with their point balances, VIP levels and order information. Administrators can also make manual point adjustments when a correction is needed.

Analytics Dashboard #

Track loyalty activity through six analytics widgets using a shared date range. See how points are being earned, redeemed and used by your customers.

Automated Loyalty Emails #

Automatically send notifications for important loyalty events, including points earned, points redeemed, VIP levels reached and points approaching expiry.

Points Expiry #

Set points to expire over time, with older points spent first. Pointics can also send customers a reminder before eligible points expire.

Storefront Surfaces #

Bring your loyalty program to the customer-facing side of your website with product and cart badges, a branded floating widget, and a Points & Rewards panel inside My Account.

Blocks & Shortcodes #

Display loyalty information anywhere on your WordPress website, including a customer’s points balance, available rewards and VIP level.

Conditions (Pro) #

Add conditions to control which activities earn points and which customers can redeem specific rewards.

WooCommerce Integration #

Connect your loyalty program with WooCommerce actions including orders, reviews and registrations. Pointics also supports coupon redemption, WooCommerce order data on the Customers screen and loyalty information across storefront surfaces.

Integration Catalogue #

Manage supported partner integrations from inside Pointics. WPCafe can currently be used to earn points, while Eventin, Timetics, Booktics and Optiontics integrations are planned.

Translation Ready #

Pointics includes a complete text domain and is ready to work with Loco Translate and other standard WordPress translation workflows.

Your Data Stays Put #

Deactivating Pointics does not delete your loyalty data. Transactions also cannot be edited or deleted directly. When a balance needs correcting, Pointics records an adjustment so the transaction history remains intact.

Frequently Asked Questions #

1. Do I need coding skills to use Pointics? #

No. The setup wizard guides you through building your loyalty program, and the AI Assistant can propose a setup based on a plain-English description of your store.

2. Do I need WooCommerce? #

WooCommerce is not required to install Pointics. However, it currently provides most of the available earning triggers and ways to turn rewards into customer value.

See How Do I Install and Manage Integrations? for more information.

3. What do I need to run Pointics? #

Pointics requires WordPress 6.4, PHP 8.0 and an Administrator account.

Points expiry, expiry reminders and VIP level demotions also require WordPress scheduled tasks to be running correctly.

Pointics Pro requires PHP 8.1 and Pointics 1.0.0 or newer.

4. Can I use Pointics for free? #

Yes. The free version supports unlimited earning rules and rewards, one VIP level and five redemption methods. You can upgrade to Pro when you need the additional functionality.

5. How are point balances calculated? #

Balances come from the points ledger. Every earning transaction, redemption, adjustment, expiry and reversal creates a record on the Transactions screen. A customer’s balance is calculated from those records.

See How Do I Read the Points Ledger?.

6. Can I correct a customer’s points? #

Yes. Administrators can adjust points from the Customers screen. Corrections are added as adjustment transactions rather than editing previous transactions, preserving the customer’s history.

See How Do I Manage Customers and Adjust Their Points?.

7. Does the AI Assistant send my data anywhere? #

The AI functionality remains off until you enable it. When enabled, Pointics registers the site with the Aisentic service using the site name, domain and administrator’s email address. According to the current implementation described here, nothing is sent before that consent.

See How Do I Use the Pointics AI Assistant?.

8. What happens to my data if I deactivate Pointics? #

Deactivating the plugin does not delete your rules, rewards, levels or transaction history.

Data is removed only when Pointics is uninstalled and the delete-on-uninstall setting was enabled beforehand.

9. Can I move my licence to another site? #

Yes. Go to Pointics โ†’ License โ†’ Manage License โ†’ Deactivate License. Once deactivated, the licence key is available for activation on another site.

10. Where do I go when something is wrong? #

Start with the Troubleshooting section of the relevant Pointics documentation. If the issue is not covered, contact support and include what you were trying to do, the exact error or message you received, whether WooCommerce is active, and whether you’re using Pointics Free or Pro.
