Your events are a custom post type, so the Yoast analysis you normally see in the WordPress editor never appears when you edit an event in Eventin. This integration brings it back. Turn Yoast on from the Extensions page and every event gets a live SEO score, a focus keyphrase, and the same assessments Yoast runs on your posts and pages.
Prerequisites #
- Eventin Pro — installed and active. The SEO panel is a Pro feature.
- Yoast SEO — installed and active. The free version is enough.
- At least one event to work on.
Step 1 — Enable the Yoast integration #
Go to Eventin → Extensions → Integrations and switch on the Yoast SEO card.
Yoast also needs to be managing events on its own side. Check Yoast SEO → Settings → Content Types → Events and make sure it’s enabled there.
Step 2 — Open an event and check the score #
Go to Eventin → Events and open any event. The SEO score now sits in the editor header, next to Preview and Update.
Red is under 51, orange is 51–80 and green is above 80. A brand-new event starts at 0 because it has no focus keyphrase yet.
Step 3 — Fill in the SEO fields #
Click the score button to open the SEO Analysis window. Fill in the four fields on the left and watch Yoast’s assessments on the right update as you type.
- Focus Keyword — Yoast calls this the keyphrase. Nothing is assessed until you set it.
- SEO Title — the headline shown in search results. Aim for 50–60 characters. Leave it empty to use your site default.
- Meta Description — the summary under the title. Aim for 120–160 characters.
- URL Slug — the event’s web address. Including your keyphrase here helps.
Click Save when you’re happy. Cancel discards your changes and leaves the score as it was.
Each line is Yoast’s own wording, so anything you already know from the WordPress editor reads the same here.
Where your work is saved #
Eventin writes straight into Yoast’s own data. Nothing is kept in a separate place, so the score you set here also appears in the WordPress events list, in the Yoast dashboard, and in the normal WordPress editor for that event.
FAQs #
Q: I turned the card on but there’s no score button. What’s wrong? #
A: Check that Eventin Pro is active, that Yoast SEO is active, and that Yoast is set to manage events under Yoast SEO → Settings → Content Types → Events. Also save the event at least once — a brand-new unsaved event has no score yet.
Q: My event scores higher here than in the WordPress editor. Why? #
A: Because Eventin assesses the event page your visitors actually see — description, venue, schedule, speakers and all. The WordPress editor only looks at the description field, which is often nearly empty on a template-built event. The Eventin score is the more realistic one.
Q: Why is the checklist empty before I type a keyphrase? #
A: That’s how Yoast works. Almost every assessment compares your content against the keyphrase, so there’s nothing to report until one is set. Type a keyphrase and the whole list appears at once.
Q: Should my event title and SEO title be the same? #
A: They don’t have to be. Leave the SEO title empty and your event title is used automatically. Writing a separate one lets you shape what appears in search results while the event page keeps a cleaner headline.
Q: If I switch the integration off, do I lose my SEO settings? #
A: No. Your keyphrases, titles and descriptions stay exactly where they are, because they live in Yoast’s own data. Switching the card off only hides the score button inside Eventin — turn it back on and everything reappears.
Q: Can I use this alongside Rank Math? #
A: Eventin also has a Rank Math card, but only one drives the panel at a time, and Rank Math takes priority if both are enabled. To use Yoast, leave the Rank Math card switched off. Running two SEO plugins together isn’t recommended anyway, since both write meta tags to your pages.

Enable the Yoast card under Extensions → Integrations, then set a keyphrase on each event and work through the assessments until they turn green. You never have to leave the Eventin editor, and because everything saves into Yoast directly, the rest of your SEO setup keeps working exactly as it always has.
